Private 1-2-1 Tuition

The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) is an essential part of the admissions process for many medical schools across the UK, Australia, and other countries. This challenging exam tests a wide range of skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, numerical reasoning, and verbal reasoning. The UCAT's fast-paced nature means that preparation is key to achieving a competitive score. Given its challenging nature, many students seek UCAT tutoring to boost their performance. A good tutor can provide personalised support, helping you to navigate the exam’s complexities and maximise your potential.

Entry to medical school, however, involves more than just the UCAT exam. You will also have to write a Personal Statement and, for most medical schools, you will have at least one interview.

Through Cambridge Clinical tutoring, we can offer detailed and personalised help with all aspects of your medical school application.

Why Choose Cambridge Clinical Tutoring?

Expert Guidance

Experienced tutors understand the nuances of the UCAT exam and medical school entry. They provide insights into common pitfalls and teach strategies to maximise efficiency. Having had success in their own entrance exams and medical school entry, their expertise can help you develop strategies to approach the process with confidence and improve your performance.

Test-Taking Strategies

Tutors teach you time management strategies, ways to prioritise questions, and techniques for dealing with the pressure of the UCAT exam and of interviews. With these tools, you’ll be better prepared to perform at your best.

Access to Practice Materials

Tutors have access to premium resources and practice materials. These resources are invaluable for familiarising yourself with the format of the both the UCAT exam and of interviews.

Practice with Feedback

Regular practice is crucial for UCAT success and solid preparation is essential for interview success. Tutors can provide practice questions, track progress, and give detailed feedback on how to improve. This helps you build confidence and reduce anxiety.

Increased Motivation

Having a tutor can keep you accountable and motivated throughout your preparation. With regular sessions, you are more likely to stay on track and remain focused on your goals. Medical school entry preparation can be stressful, and maintaining motivation throughout the study process is essential. A tutor provides encouragement, accountability, and regular feedback, which can significantly boost your confidence and help you stay focused.

Personalised Learning

Tutors can tailor lessons to your specific needs, focusing on the areas where you need the most support. Each student has different strengths and weaknesses. Whether it's improving speed in the Quantitative Reasoning section, boosting your performance in Verbal Reasoning, honing your Personal Statement, or working on interview technique, a tutor can help you address your unique challenges. Personalised tutoring ensures efficient use of study time, focusing on areas that need the most improvement. It is an external check to your performance - a second eye to see how you are doing and to improve your performance.

Time Management Skills

Time pressure is one of the most difficult aspects of the UCAT exam. A tutor can teach you strategies for working quickly and accurately, such as how to prioritise questions, identify easy answers, and avoid getting stuck on particularly challenging questions.

Finding the Right Tutor – why Cambridge Clinical?

There are many other medical school preparation companies that also provide tuition, so why should you choose Cambridge Clinical? The first unique features of our company is that we only recruit postgraduate tutors who have the maturity and the experience to teach. Teaching itself requires good insight, experience and skill. Postgraduate students have attained both medical qualifications and life experience to allow them to relate to you and personalise tutoring for your needs. The second unique feature of our company is that all our tutors are current or past medical students at the University of Cambridge, and are therefore known personally to the Directors of Cambridge Clinical, having been either taught or supervised by them. All our tutors have, as a minimum, completed their intercalated degree and are already graduates who are now Clinical School students. Other tutors are on our graduate medicine programme and already have related degrees from previous study. Finally, a number of our tutors have already qualified as doctors from Cambridge and are now in clinical practice. Uniquely, every one of our tutors is a current or past Cambridge student and has, therefore, performed at the very top of the national cohort in order to gain their place at Cambridge medical school. This does not mean, however, that we only provide tuition to students aiming for a place at Cambridge. The majority of our tutors also applied to other medical schools and have, therefore, a very broad knowledge base from which to teach you. You can be taught by the best!
